Henri Delauze, engineer and diver, founder of the COMEX in Marseille in 1961, convinced of the importance of watches for his divers, joined forces with Rolex to create the ideal tool for his activities. Official supplier of the COMEX from 1970 to 1997, Rolex engraved the watches with a number on the case back for better monitoring. The model presented was offered by Henri Delauze to the current owner, one of the first divers to dive with HYDROX (Hydrogen and Oxygen mixture).

Henri Delauze, ingénieur et plongeur, fondateur de la COMEX à Marseille en 1961, persuadé de l’importance de la montre pour ses plongeurs s’est associé à Rolex pour réaliser l’outil idéal pour ses activités. Fournisseur officiel de la COMEX de 1970 à 1997, Rolex gravait systématiquement un numéro dans le fond des montres pour en améliorer le meilleur suivi.
