Farine & Racle, Paris
Jean-Baptiste Farine was received as a master in the guild of watchmakers in Paris probably around 1767. He is still quoted in 1773. He is associated with Barthélémy Racle, himself received master in 1770. The latter is mentioned in Paris, rue Colombier (1770), Cour du Prince (1772) and Abbaye Saint-Germain (1777-1780).
Their signatures can be found on a “Louis XV” watch from the Jubinal de Saint-Albin Collection. A man named Jean-Jacques Racle was mentioned in Neuveville, near Pontarlier in the Doubs (East of France) in 1783.
