Snd. Mercier à Genève, Horloger Breveté de Sa Majesté Britanique, circa 1860. Fine and unusual 18 ct. gold, hunting cased, quarter repeating, independant center seconds watch with hour and minute recorder and double calendar.

C. Four body, massive, "forme quatre baguettes", engine- turned with a small eccentric aperture on the cover for mean time, a monogram engraved on the back. Gold cuvette. D. White enamel, small chapters for mean time and hour and minute register, Roman numerals, subsidiary dates and week days. Blued steel Breguet hands and counterpoised center seconds. M. 18?, gilt brass double train with going barrels, 30 jewels, bar caliber, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Dead center seconds with boit in the band. Signed on the dial and case. In good condition. Diam. 50mm.
