Unsigned, probably Frederic Houriet, Locle, Swiss, No. 30, circa 1835. Extremely fine 18 ct. gold, hunting cased, diamond set pocket chronometer.

Very fine and heavy four body "bassine carrure ronde" engine tumed case, with rose diamond pavé pendant and bow, a large diamond set on top. Gold cuvette engraved with the principal technical features. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. Fine giIt brass 24"' three quarter plate movement with conical pillars, very similar to that used by Frederic Houriet and Urban Jurgensen for their pocket chronometers set or not witht a tourbillon regulator, the fusee with a maintaining power, the barrel passing through the back plate, secured by a bridge, gold train of wheels, 12 jewels, spring detent escapement, Z bimetallic balance with trapezoïdal sliding weights and poising screws, now with blued steel helical balance spring (originally spherical). In very good condition. Diam. 61 mm. This watch was almost certainly made in Switzerland by Houriet, for export via France to the Middle East.
