Notes

Patek Philippe, Ref. 5275 P-001

Especially made for the 175th Anniversary of the Genevan Manufacture, the Ref. 5275 is the second most complicated watch produced for this occasion apart from the Ref. 5175, the “Grandmaster Chime”.

Manufactured in a limited edition of only 175 pieces, this watch is a sort of updated version of the anniversary jumping hour watch released in 1989, Ref. 3969, produced in 500 examples (450 pink gold pieces and 50 platinum pieces).

The watch features a number of innovations that have led Patek Philippe to file four new patents for the watch and its movement. Offering 45 hours of power reserve, the new platinum case is hand-engraved on both sides with floral motifs matching the dial, and has a slide on the left side to engage / disengage the chime mechanism which strikes at each hour.

Offered to the Manufacture’s best and most loyal customers at a retail price of CHF 310 000.-, this is one of the first examples to appear at public auction.
