Notes

The "Explorer" model was called the "reinforced Rolex". It has been used in the Artic, the Himalayas and the Tropics and was designed to give accuracy under the toughest out-of-door condition.Similar watches are published in "Collecting Rolex Wristwatches", by Osvaldo Patrizzi, Guido Mondani Editore, Genova 2001, pp. 340-341.
