Gerald Genta,Spectacular Automaton with Concealed Erotic Scene; Only One Piece Produced, by Special Request, 1990's.Depicting a genie sitting on a cushion-shaped base constructed of beveled, mother-of-pearl plaques, each framed with 4 round, brilliant-cut diamonds and centered with an 18K yellow gold diamond-set flower; on a base of abalone tiles sits a genie with black coral hands and face and dressed in a jacket of carved mother-of-pearl flowers that is embellished with pear-shaped, faceted rubies, round, faceted emeralds and bead-set diamond borders, his hat decorated with blue enamel having a border of moher-of-pearl and round, cabochon-cut rubies, the top tassel set with rows of round, brilliant-cut diamonds. The genie's gold "bottle" is covered with floret designs, studded with round, faceted sapphires and accented with round, brilliant-cut diamonds, topped with a skeletonized, mechanical movement, 18 jewels, perpetual calendar, astronomic, moon phases, with gold "baton" hands, the bezel, above the Roman numerals, decorated with rows of buff-topped rubies. When activated, music plays, the ld of the bottle opens revealing the erotic scene which is illuminated by a diamond-set lamp, adjacent to the gold couple, laying on a mother-of-pearl floor. The total weight of the diamonds is stated to be 33.82 cts., the sapphires 19.04 cts., the rubies 11.34 cts., the emeralds 0.76 cts., and the gold 3,455 grams and measuring 14 inches (35 cm.) across and 11 inches (28 cm.) high.

Gerald GentaTasmanian Devil Automaton's, Only One Piece Produced, by Special Request, 1990's.The cartoon figure of the Tasmanian Devil in the process of destroying the Eiffel Tower and Big Ben, standing on a platform of mother-of-pearl and abalone marquetry supported by a mother-of-pearl tiled, rectangular-shaped base with a beveled edge of lapis lazuli and a grillwork of woven 18K yellow gold at the front and back. The figure of the Tasmanian Devil stands at the center of the platform behind the broken top of Big Ben, which is in 18K yellow gold with mother-of-pearl clockfaces and "Ta" is fabricated from 18K yellow gold with eyebrows, nose and eyes of black onyx, 18K white gold teeth and a coral tongue; the figure's arms and legs have been oxidized and engraved to represent hair. In his right hand "Taz" is holding a small octagonal case clock with a pave-set, diamond bezel and mother-of-pearl dial, in his left hand, is the top of the Eiffel tower, which has been torn from the base which stands to his left. On his right is another clocktower with a central pyramid of crystaln a framework of ornately pierced 18K gold. An electric eye turns on the automaton, which moves its arms up and down, wags it's tail and opens and closes it's mouth as if taking a bite out of the clock in its hand. The piece measures approx. 13 x 8 x 9 inches (33 x 20 x 23 cm.) and is powered by an electrical transformer.Accompanied by fitted leather carrying case

Gerald GentaL'Apprenti Sorcier Automaton; Only One Piece Produced, by Special Request, 1990's.Depicting the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" scene from the Walt Disney movie Fantasia, the figures of Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer and his broomstick apprentice stand upon a platform of mother-of-pearl marquetry, framed in 18K yellow gold and supported by an octagonal base constructed of lapis lazuli decorated with moon and star appliqués of 18K yellow gold, pave-set with round, brilliant-cut diamonds. The base itself is supported by another frame of 18K yellow gold, sitting on four bun feet. Centralllocated at the back of the platform is an alarm clock with a Swiss made, quartz movement having a mother-of-pearl dial that is octagonal with gold Roman numerals and framed in 18K yellow gold of a scalloped design topped with 2 crowns, each set with a round, cabochon-cut lapis lazuli; the clock sits on its own base of rose quartz, decorated top and bottom with scrolls of 18K yellow gold, decorated with a bezel-set round, brilliant-cut diamond and a bezel-set, round, cabochon-cut lapis lazuli. Tthe left of the clock stands the figure of Mickey Mouse in 18K yellow gold with ears, eyes and nose of black and white enamel and a tongue of coral. Atop his head sits a sorcerer's hat of blue enamel decorated with moon and star appliqués and a brim of pave-set round, faceted yellow sapphires having a total weight of 12.60 cts.; his robe is pave-set with round, faceted rubies having a total weight of 93.31 cts. and decorated at the back with a panel of Florentine finished, 18K yellow gold accened with several, bead-set, round, brilliant-cut diamonds. To the right of the clock, is the broomstick apprentice holding two buckets full of water, which are constructed of 18K yellow and 18K oxidized, white gold with rock crystal carved to represent the spilling water. The head of the broom is composed of 18K yellow gold "foxtail" chain with a broomstick of 18K yellow gold in a matte finish. When the diamond pave buttons at the side of the base are pushed, Mickey begins waving his wand and taping his foot; seconds later, the broomstick apprentice begins to rock back and forth as the music of Paul Dukas' L'Apprenti Sorcier begins to play. The piece measures approx. 11 inches (28 cm)across and 9 (23 cm) inches high and is powered by an electrical transformer.
