C. Protective: two-body, gilt, glazed, engraved edges. Inner: two-body, "bassine fermée" with curved-in edge, the front cover very finely painted with St. Catherine, the back painted with the Holy Family, St. Joseph giving a flower to the Christ Child, the inside front cover painted with St. John the Baptist holding a cross with a ribbon inscribed with the words "Ecce Agnus Dei" (see John, I, 29), inside the back cover Mary Magdalene with a cross and a Holy Book, the band painted with rural scenes, a castle on a river, a fisherman, a traveler, small enameled pendant. D. Enamel, made of two pieces, the outer white enamel ring with radial Roman numerals and half hours, the center, with a very finely painted young man (possibly David) playing the harp, is mounted within a bezel inside the chapter ring. Gilt "tulip" hand. M. 56 mm. (25???), hinged gilt brass full plate, baluster pillars, fusee and gut, short three-wheel train with 5-leaf pinions, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt cock secured by a screw, ratchet wheel mainspring set-up, motion work driven by six pins fitted at the end of a large fusee arbor. Breguet, No. 423/5. Started July 6, 1804, finished 14 December 1808, sold to Emperor Alexander I for 14,000 Francs, entered into the register on February 12, 1809. Extremely rare and highly important mahogany and gilt bronze Pendule Marine with patented constant force escapement, 40-hour power reserve indicator, special lever winding arrangement and visible escapement.

C. Mahogany, rectangular, by Duchosal, "colonnes rondes", glazed on all sides, plain base, oval observation window at the top with tapered gilt bronze folding handle, oval gold polished inlaid cartouche engraved: "Echappement libre à force constante par Breguet" on the base, four gilt bronze feet and winding lever. D. Silvered Breguet numerals, outer minute track with five-minute star markers and fifteen-minute Arabic markers, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Gilt brass with two going barrels concealed in the base, vertical cylindrical column secured onto the base supporting the large triangular horizontal platform with the going train driven from a pinion hidden in the column, constant force escapement with spring lever, similar to Peto cross detent, delivering a pulse every second, large (60 mm.) three-arm cut compensated balance with circular temperature sliding weights and mean time nuts, two gold helical balance springs with terminal curves, working in opposite phases ? when one expands, the other contracts. Unusual power reserve indicator for each mainspring with silvered sector secured to the base of the column. Signed on a circular silver plate at the top of the column and numbered on the top of the winding indicator sectors. Dim. 21 x 16 x 13 cm.

Extremely important and rare, 18K gold, astronomical minute-repeating self-winding perpetuelle with 60-hour power reserve, date and phases of the moon, in a Morocco fitted box. Accompanied by a certificate.

C. Two-body, "collier" form, the whole engine-turned in grains d?orge pattern with polished circle on the back cover, repeater locking lever on the band at the pendant. D. Silver, radial Roman numerals, outer minute dot track, sunk subsidiary seconds, up-and-down indicator at 10 o?clock, symmetrically to the right aperture for the phases of the moon with a sector for its age on the edge, sunk date aperture above 6 o?clock concentric with subsidiary seconds. Mounted to gilt brass à bate levée ring. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 47.20 mm. (21???), gilt brass 3/4 plate, two going barrels, tandem winding with wolf-tooth winding gears, five-wheel train, straight line lever escapement, three-arm steel and brass jeweled and capped compensation balance lamina segments terminated with a small bracket for platinum temperature screws, three small mean time screws, blued steel flat balance spring, lift mostly on the pallets, no draw, oil retention slots in escape wheel teeth, single steel trapezoidal roller table working between two upright gold pins mounted at the end of the fork, long fork with banking over the escape wheel arbor with U-shaped end, convex entry pallet, concave exit pallet to equalize both lifts, early form parachute on both pivots. Half-ogival platinum weight swinging between two spring-loaded sapphire rollers mounted to the case with a stop mechanism triggered when fully wound, Breguet-type repeating mechanism with all-or-nothing and fixed star wheel, repeating with two hammers on a short gong fixed to the case by depressing the pendant, tone adjustment screw in the bate levée ring. Signed "Breguet" with the serial number on the dial ring and on the dial. Diam. 56 mm.

Accompanied by Breguet certi-ficate.

Rectangular, glazed on all sides and the top, rectangular plinth with molded surbase chased with scrolling and finished at each corner with lion paws, glazed side panels in gilt frames with beaded edges, molded cornice, gilt handle with tassels in the center hinged from the lions? mouths, small four finials, bun feet, push-button at the top to activate repeater. D. Gilt metal, engine-turned, the top with circular aperture for silver hour and minute chapters with champlevé radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with five-minute Arabic markers, above 6 o?clock phases of the moon aperture, below 6 o?clock year aperture and at the bottom three apertures for silver sub-dials for days of the week, date and months, moon phases, on the lower edge to the left lever for changing from petite to grande sonnerie, to the right striking/silence lever, silver alarm setting sub-dial set on the back plate. Extremely rare and exceptionally fine and elegant 18K gold and enamel astronomical equation of time watch with annual calendar, manual perpetual calendar, phases of the moon and mean and true solar time, in a Morocco fitted box. Accompanied by Breguet Certificate of 1857.

Four-body, "forme quatre baguettes", back centered with engraved with coat-of-arms under pale gray translucent enamel, engine-turned around and on the band and bezel, gold hinged cuvette with winding, regulating and leap-year apertures. D. The top with urn concealing the bird inside, with enamel flower medallion within half pearl frame against repeated motif of oval white enamel rings with gold acanthus leaves, separated by green and red enamel circles, gold scroll-shaped handles, standing on square pedestal with four gold and enamel finials terminated with good-size pearls, translucent dark blue enamel decorated with gold floral garlands in the front and back, sides with scrolling applied gold motifs, center with round case fea-turing hexagonal enameled panels on the sides, one depicting children in an Alpine rural landscape, the other a young lady with a suitor in classical costumes, half pearl frames, back with hinged panel centered by a finely painted young lady with another young suitor, gold paillon frame, translucent dark blue enamel border against engine-turning, edge pierced and engraved for sound with gold laurel leaves and green paillon repeated pattern, molded champlevé enameled base, the whole standing on a rectangular base with scalloped edges with the lid in champlevé translucent dark blue enamel over engine-turning painted in a black geometrical pattern, azure blue and gold foliate border, front and back painted with pastoral scene, river, Alpine landscape in the background, the other with five people enjoying themselves in a rural landscape, Alpine background, half pearl frame, molded base decorated with champlevé enamel, and gold foliate pattern, circular feet decorated with acanthus leaves, Zephyr among scrolling hanging from below the base between the feet.
