?Torero and Bull? Girard Perregaux, Chaux-de-Fonds, No. 10052. Made for the Hispanic market, circa 1900. Very fine and rare, large, hunting-cased, keyless, 18K gold minute-repeating pocket watch with unusual polychrome enamel automaton scene.

C. Four-body, ?bassine et filet?, entirely engraved with leaves, scrolls and geometric patterns, the front cover with central monogram, the back centered with a lion mask. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details within a foliate border, glazed gold-rimmed cover over the movement. D. White enamel, annular, Arabic numerals, outer minute track and red painted five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds, the center with an enamel automaton scene of a torero and bull, the torero?s arm and the bull?s head moving when the repeating is activated, royal blue translucent guilloche enamel background. Gold ?pear? hands. M. 20???, rhodium-plated, wavy-line decoration, 29 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with peripheral gold adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Cuvette signed. Diam. 58 mm.
