Made circa 1870. Exceptionally fine and probably unique, large and heavy, minute-repeating, two-train, independent dead-center seconds, 18K gold hunting-cased keyless pocket chronometer, with one-minute tourbillon regulator with pivoted detent escapement and amplitude-controlling device.

Five-body, all hinged, "bassine et filets", master mark "PM", engine-turned with polished borders, reeded band, button at 6 in the band for the independent seconds. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the prize medals for the Expositions Universelles of 1862 and 1867, further glazed gold-rimmed cover over the movement. White enamel, bold radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary sunk seconds. Multi-piece, rectangular, engine-turned, the front with a pair of hinged gold gates set with red enameled studs, opening to reveal the dials, ring handles, arched top with grille mounted with the Sultanate of Oman Khanjar emblems, stepped rectangular base. The upper yellow translucent guilloche enamel with silver paillon Arabic numerals, the lower translucent Royal ble enamel with gold Arabic numerals, gold bezels, green translucent guilloche enamel surround overlaid with a pierced gold grille. Gold, two-body, egg-form, overlaid with translucent royal blue guilloche enamel, the lower body mounted with chased gold swags supported by ribbons and set with cabochon rubies, waisted base on a further circular base mounted with a gold continuous laurel wreath pattern, hinged lid set with gold foliage surrounding four white enameled Imperial arms each set with a rose-cut diamond, gold foliage between set with cabochon rubies, silver ribbons set with rose-cut diamonds, surmounted by a gold and white enamel Imperial crown set with rose-cut diamonds in silver, cabochon ruby-set thumb-piece, the lid opening to reveal a silver elephant with gold tusks and cabochon ruby eyes, gold and translucent red enamel cover on the elephant's back set with a cabochon ruby in a chased gold mount, standing on an opalescent radial guilloche enamel reserve with gold beaded border, royal blue translucent guilloche enamel outer border. Punched with Fabergé mark in Cyrillic, mastermark M-II, Russian gold mark 56. DIM. 15.3 x 6.2 cm. In excellent condition. This egg is a superb quality modern creation by the House of Fabergé inspired by the famous Imperial Easter eggs made for the Czar by the original Fabergé company before the revolution.
