C. Two body rectangular with cut-out corcars, glazed side panels with gilt borders, four acanthus feet and folding handle at the top, entirely engraved with foliage and formai decoration, the back door with inset bell. The face repousse with scrolls, acanthus leaves and caryatids, a laurelled portrait below the dial, small champleve fast/slow regulator at the top. D. Silver champleve with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and inner revolving alarm setting disc. GiIt brass Louis XV hands. M. Shaped full plate with turned pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring and gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with scrolled foliage. Striking train with fusee and chain, repeating the quarters before the houres and and striking hours and quarter on the bell. Alarm train with fixed barrel, striking on the same bell. White enamel by Dubuisson, with Roman numerals, inner Arabic minute ring and revolving solar time chapter, apertures above "VI" for the annual calendar. Chased gilt brass hands and counterpoised blued-steel centre-seconds hand. M. Endless rope weight driven train with Lepaute pin wheel escapement, seconds beating grid-iron pendulum. GiIt brass Louis XV hands. M. Large going barrel with 15 seconds remontoire, unusual pin-wheel single-beat escapement, grid-iron half second beating pendulum with spring suspension. Not signed, attributed to Gabriel Courieult's widow, circa 1788. Rare and magnificent, Sevres "beau bleu" porcelain lyre hour and hait hour striking clock with enamel painted dial by Coteau.

C. Made of soft paste porcelain, designed as a lyre, with ormolu mounts, a figure of Apollo on the top, swags of flowers hanging down; laurel leaves running around the edge of the lyre and further swags of flowers on the base. The tiered porcelain base has four bands of engine-turned ormolu mounted around it. The mock fixed vine rod gridiron is seen between the upper part of the lyre. D. Enamel chapter ring by Coteau with dates and months, outer superb painted miniatures representing the zodiac signs with delicate and intricate jewelled designs between them. Inner silver engine-turned dial with Roman numerals and outer minute ring. GiIt brass fleurs de lys hands. M. Circular gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, going barrel for both the going and the striking trains, pin-wheel escapement, plain balance with knife edge suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. In very good condition. Dim. 58 x 26 x 14 cm.

Set on four gilt bronze paws, the rectangular marbIe base with a gilt bronze drawer on the face applied with a frieze of foliage and a location for the key on the top, with a gilt bronze cover decorated with leaves and entrelacs. The movement is supported by two candlestick marbIe columns, a fir cone at the top. D. GiIt brass engine-turned with Roman numerals, outer minute ring and inner date and day rings. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Brass circular full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, platform escapement with very unusual frictionnai rest escapement of Debaufre type with twin escape wheel and single jewelled pallet on the balance staff, plain steel three-arm balance, with flat balance spring and diamond end-stone. C. Supported by four brass columns on a rectangular moulded mahogany and cast iron base. D. Silver chapter ring with Roman numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Fully skeletonised brass full plate with turned pillars, going barrel, pin wheel escapement, half second beating pendulum with mercury compensation and spring suspension. A very large wheel with articulated hammers on the circumference, is apparently rotating by the different weights between the extended and the folded hammers whilst rewinding the the mainspring of the clock. Not signed, France, circa 1820. Extremely rare and unusual skeleton clock with centre seconds, simulating perpetual motion.

C. Secured on a rectangular alabaster base applied with a gilt bronze figure of Orpheus. D. White enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals. GiIt brass "Louis XV" hands. M. Concealed in the base, the going barrel drives a verge escapement controlled by a half second beating pendulum with silk suspension, the arbor of the escape wheel concealed within a fine polished steel turned column. A pinion carried on the extended arbor drives a large wheel set with bail cups on the rim and at the same time, an outer wheel set around the escape wheel, drives the Archimedes endless screw. This arrangement gives the illusion that the large ball-cup wheel is driven by the weight of the ivory balls and simultaneously activating the endless screw rising the balls back to the top. In good condition. Dim. 40 x 15 x 15 cm.
