Shaped, black lacquered and polished, the rectangular base supported on four, gilt bronze, near contemporary dragon feet with central applied antique head above symmetrical foliage, side and shoulder pieces; gilt bronze bezel chased in light relief with petal decoration, the pediment surmounted by the figure of a hall clad youth wearing a helm and with his left hand resting on a sphere, seated on the body of a decapitated warrior. D. Relief chased gilt bronze, the centre decorated with a bird with spread wings standing on a footed basin within symmetrical foliate and floral motifs with strapwork. Roman numerals enamelled in blue on a white ground in individuel plaques set into the dial plate (hairline cracks to those for V and X), Arabic minutes engraved directly on the circumference of the dial-plate; silvered volvelle at 12 o'clock for the date of the month, lower centre winding hole and arbor. The arch with applied, chased gilt bronze beading with central grotesque head and drop pieces in the form of cocks standing above shields and swags. Matching pediment and bracket, the pediment surmounted by a figure of a female warrior. D. Gilt bronze with Roman numerals on enamel plaques surrounded by Arabic minute numerals on the edge on the plate. Steel hands centre decorated with a sun-burst above fruit and foliate decoration. M. C. Similar in design to a traditional Bernoise nocturne of the saine period, with bronze rocaille head and food pieces, and cast bronze curved goat feet, legs with leaf decoration. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring (slightly restored). Pierced and engraved Louis XV hands. M. Brass rectangular with going barrel, verge escapement, short pendulum with silk suspension. Signed on the dial and on an enamel cartouche above the dial. In good condition. Dim. 30 x 18 x 10 cm.

Circular spun foot with upturned rim carrying a tapering column with oil reservoir and wick-holder at the top. The fluted glass reservoir bound over with a brass strip calibrated on one side with the hour scale ( VII-XII-VIII), the other with carrying handle. In very good condition. Dim. 33 cm.

C. Mahogany, glazed on face and sides with plain base, dentil comice beneath stepped moulded cresting and engine-turned gilt brass bezel. D. Silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and subsidiary auto-reverse double 60 seconds slotted sector with pointer. Blued steel "poker and beetle" hands. M. Brass circular with mirror polished back plate and skeletonised front plate, pin-wheel escapement with sector shaped escape wheel, subsidiary double steel cylinder escapement mounted on its arbor and releasing every 60 seconds the very large escape wheel with pin-teeth placed alternatively on either side. Concealed motion work. Seconds beating pendulum with eliptical brass bob and beat adjustment on the crutch. Single weight with endless rope and double-pulley, maintained in tension by a small counter-weight. Signed on the dial. In very good condition. Dim. 198 cm.

C. h1 form of a pyramid, a gilt brass bail at the top, set on four paws and with applied gilt bronze decoration of pearls, foliage, ribbon knots and musical instruments. the rectangular base with four gilt bronze bun-feet, applied with wreath of laurel. D. White enamel with Roman numerals for the 10 decimal hours, irmer calendar ring with the three decades, outer decimal minute indication, Breguet duo-decimal hour on 24 hours, and and minute rings on the bezel's border. Gilt brass interlaced chased bands. M. Gilt brass full plate with going barrel, anchor escapement, short pendulum with silk suspension. Signed on the dial. In very good condition. De Belle, Rue Saint Honoré à Paris, circa 1800. Very fine gilt bronze, "rouge grillotte" marble and enamel eight day going, hour and hall hour striking skeleton dock.

C. Rectangular "Rouge grillotte" marble base on four gilt bronze feet, the front face with a gilt bronze "bas relief" of playing putti. Four fluted columns supporting a semi-circular arched frame applied with a blue enamel panel sprinkled with gold stars. Signature cartouche flanked by two gilt bronze foliate tailed animal figures, supporting the movement, gilt bronze pain-leaves and falling foliage at the top. D. White enamel chapter ring with Breguet numerals outer Republican calendar ring and blue external decoration matching that of the arch. Gilt brass pierced hands. M. Brass circular with going barrels botte for the going and the striking train, anchor escapement, "sunburst" pendulum, silk suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. Lepine, Horloger du Roy à Paris, No. 4268, circa 1790. Very fine white marble and ormolu hour and half hour striking dock.

C. Movement in turned banded cylindrical case with engine-turned bezel, supported on a stretcher with scalloped-edge drape decorated with a chased caduceus flanked by symmetrical scrolled tendrils on a matt ground. The stretcher is further decorated by draped swags of vine leaves with grape bunches, and is carried on the shoulders of two putti each seated on the back of a seated goat. on top of the movement a nude, reclining bacchæ tilts her head backwards to swallow the last drops of wine from her upraised goblet. the whole mounted on a white marble base with inverted stylised tulip border and engine-turned side panels. D. White enamel, typical of Lepine with mixed Roman and Arabic numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and inner red date chapters. Pierced and engraved gilt bras hands. M. Brass circular with going barrels on both the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, pendulum with silk suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. Lépine à Paris, Horloger, 12 Place des Victoires, No. 4333, the bronze by Deverberie, circa 1800. "Le Baiser" - Magnificent gilt and black lacquered bronze, hour and hall hour striking, " Pendule au Nègre", with calendar, after a design by Deverberie.

C. Oval gilt bronze base on six cylindrical flat topped feet with milled edges, the face with a framed rectangular relief sculpted scene of four piccaninnies in a landscape of desert and palmtrees, fishing, hunting and gardening under the watchful eye of Cupid. Corresponding plaque on the back with applied gilt brass diamond on a black ground, the serai-circular ends with applied swags and floral decoration.The dock case and movement supported by a rock with water-fall below and trailing sea-weed strands. Standing on the rocks to the left of the dock a hunter with quiver of arrows on his back and grasping a bow and arrow inclines towards the right to embrace and kiss a girl leaning backwards from the right over the movement. Both figures are clad only in palm-leaf skirts with chased belts worked "à jour", and palm leaf head-pieces. The reclining girl holds a gourd and leaf in lier right hand, her left reaching up to embrace the head of her lover, and has a double row of pearls round her neck. Both figures have their eyes in white enamel with blue pupils and wear coral earrings. D. White enamel, typical of Lepine with mixed Roman and Arabic numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and inner red date chapters. Pierced and engraved gilt bras bands. M. Brass circular with going barrels on botte the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, pendulum with silk suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. Signed on the dial and on the back plate. In very good condition. Dim. 56 x 43 x 15 cm.

The movement is fitted in the cubical cotton bail, to the right a black lacquered bronze slave with enamelled eyes leans on the bail, holding a rope in his left hand, anchor, barrel and oar on the left. Octagonal gilt bronze base standing on four barrel feet with a central light relief depicting putty loading a vessel. D. White enamel with Roman numerals (replacement).
