C. Octagonal gilt bronze, gilt bronze urns on the canted corners flanked by fluted pilasters to the apex of each angle, with turned columns above terminating in flambeau urn finials; tortoiseshell veneered side panels with applied gilt-bronze floral decoration and ribbon foliage. Wirework above and ring suspension. D. Bombe white enamel, mounted below, with Breguet numerals regulator index. Engraved and gilt Louis XV hands with blued-steel centre-seconds. M. Mounted in the base below a silkcovered brass fret-work panel, the small clock movement with dead-beat verge escapement, the birdsong train with fusee and chain, rectangular section bellows and pin-drum for the 10 tin pipes, playing 6 different tunes, released after the stiking of the hour, or at-will by a pull-cord. Birds decorated with natural feathers, moving the body, head, beak, wings and tail. Double fountain of revolving twisted glass rods. Dim. 43 x 27 cm.

C. Cylindrical form with eight Corinthian columns supporting the arched dome decorated below with an applied garland of painted enamel flowers, the cage work of pierced and chased floral and foliate design, with alternate silver garlands and opening doors to the front, the body with applied musical trophies and silver floral bouquets, acanthus mouldings, cast lion paws feet and ball finial with rope twist suspension ring. Large multicolour feathered bird with moving wings, tail, turning head and swivelling body. M. Brass plates, turned pillars, fusee with chain, circular bellow, eight lifting cams, the bird operating mechanism on the top plate. Bruguier trade mark punched on the movement. Dim. 30 x 13 cm.

Attributed to Charles Abraham Bruguier, Geneva, No. 386, circa 1840. Extremely fine and rare gilt-bronze singing bird cage with two birds and built-in watch.

C. Gilt bronze octagonal, body and base, standing on four cast chased scalloped shell feet, the bottom section containing the movements, with acanthus mouldings and further floral decoration, the watch dial below the hinged doors of the cage supported on four pairs of twinned columns with pierced gilt floral scroll dividers, gilt-brass side panels made of lattice openwork with fleurettes intersections. The dome fixed between cast and chased acanthus scroll pediments with the pierced tile pattern sides and corners decorated with florally scrolled panel, a double acanthus leaf support for the ring handle. The birds inside the cage, supported on bars between side pillars. M. Brass plates, turned pillars, fusee with chain, fly regulator, circular bellow, eight lifting cams, the bird operating mechanism on the top plate. Watch: Later gilt-brass three-quarter plate movement with cylinder escapement, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals. Dim. 33 x 13 x 13 cm.
