Rectangular with oval corners, by ?ICI?, three-body, the hinged lid centered by a harp and a guitar in azure and royal blue enamel, flanked by engine-turned panels, borders in royal blue acanthus leaves, side panels and base en suite, pin at the left side for changing the tune, at the back for activating. M. Rectangular, 76 x 51 mm, brass, sur plateau pinned disc type with 26 tuned vibrating blades on one side and 25 on the other, each playing different tune by shifting the disc up and down via a lever controlled from the outside, 4-arm fly pinion governor.Box punched with maker?s mark.Dim. 79 x 54 x 16 mm.

Geneva, No. 109, circa 1825. Very fine and rare 18K gold and enamel musical box with large number of grasshopper-shaped vibrating blades. Accompanied by original morocco fitted box.

Three-body, rectangular with oval cross-section, engine-turned center, borders with black champlevé enamel forming floral and foliate design on matte gold background, side panels en suite, hinged engine-turned lid revealing a compartment, music activated by a small knob on the right side. M. Oval, 45 x 17 mm, brass full-plate, pinned barrel with an unusual numbers of pins, 34 tuned vibrating grasshopper-shaped blades in two stacks, pinion governor pivoted in eccentric socket for tempo adjustment.Punched with maker?s mark ?H.N.? on the edge of the lid, movement scratched ?Fs. Three-body, by ?C.I?, rectangular with rounded corners, the top with applied varicolored floral and foliate patterns, the spring-loaded bird cover finely painted on enamel with bouquet of flowers, engine-turned side panels with edges of applied green gold laurel leaf pattern, back panel hinged to reveal key compartment, slide in the front to activate the rising of the bird, which rotates, turns its head, opens its beak, flaps its wings and moves its tail. The bird is facing the inside of the mirror-polished, concave medallion, which enlarges the bird in its reflection, gold engraved grill.Singing bird movement. 74 x 41mm, rectangular brass, fusee and chain, eight cams and a whistle with sliding piston for the song's modulation, cams rotating four times per song and lifting one step every rotation, allowing a long duration of singing, typical Rochat lifting mechanism by additional cam gathering four pins on the lifting cam wheel. Complicated rising of the bird?s medallion and the bird with five-wheel train finished by a pinion in eccentric socket to regulate the speed of the opening and closing. This complicated mechanism allows for precision control of the raising of the bird and medallion, and its speed.Stamped "FR" in an oval on the back of the bird mechanism, along with the number, the box punched with maker?s mark and Geneva quality mark.Dim. 78 x 52 mm.

Frères Rochat, Geneva, box by Georges Reymond, musical movement atributable to Piguet et Capt, made for the Chinese market, circa 1810. Exceptional and rare small 18K gold and enamel, pearl and turquoise-set singing bird box with music. Accompanied by the original fitted box.

Rectangular with rounded corners, elaborately chased and engraved with central engine-turned field and blue enamel flowers, central octagonal pearl-set frame to the spring-loaded cover, which is chased and engraved with a turquoise-set basket of flowers. Hinged lid opening to reveal finely engine-turned gold plate with winding apertures for musical movement and bird song and movement, sector for speed regulation, marked «V/L». Engine-turned sides with blue enamel accents, the corners with chased and enraved blue enamel floral motifs, hinged key compartment on one end. Two slides on the front, the first for selecting music or bird song. the second for activating the box. M. 65 x 47 x 19 mm, rectangular, gilt brass, going barrel and fusee.
