Notes

Aimé Jacob (19th century) was a French watchmaker renowned for his fine craftsmanship and precision. He was a pupil of the celebrated horologist Abraham-Louis Breguet, whose innovative designs and technical mastery deeply influenced Jacob’s work.

After completing his apprenticeship with Breguet, Aimé Jacob established himself as an independent watchmaker, producing elegant timepieces that reflected the refined mechanical and aesthetic principles of the Breguet school. His watches, often signed “Aimé Jacob, élève de Breguet” (“pupil of Breguet”), demonstrated high technical quality and artistic taste.

Though less famous than his mentor, Jacob’s work remains appreciated among collectors and horological historians for its craftsmanship and historical connection to one of the greatest names in watchmaking.
