This bracelet appeared even more provocative and transgressive than its predecessor. It was born of aesthetic reflection upon the beauty of humble, simple objects, here taken to an extreme. In an interview, the mischievous designer claimed that the idea came to him after stepping on a nail. Like the Love bracelet, the gold Nail bracelet was unisex. The nail theme was the extended to various other pieces of jewelry, such as rings and necklaces Somewhat overshadowed by the smashing success of the Love bracelet, Cartier ceased making the Nail bracelet and other nail jewelry in the early 1980s. Thirty years later, however, the Maison revived it with a line called Juste un Clou
