Notes

Given to an Italian admiral for his possible launch of the new SS Atlantic later converted into a cruise ship. It is probable that this rare example of the Angelus globe clock was mounted on a wooden base to fit the dedication plaque and unlike the other version featuring the aircraft mounted above the globe, this rare version has a lovely brass stand that wraps around the globe. The accompanying black and white picture shows the clock sitting on top of the fireplace.
