ANGELUS SINGING BIRD BOX DESK CLOCK Angelus, Swiss. Made circa 1960. Fine and unusual, gilt-metal and painted-on-enamel singing bird box with integral 8-day going alarm clock. Accompanied by a key.

Three-body, rectangular with engraved body, bird cover painted with a scene of two ladies and a gentleman in a pastoral landscape, the scene continues on the top panel, square case at the front housing the clock, the sides decorated with three painted on enamel alpine view vignettes and cream enamel geometric designs, the base hinged and opening to reveal a compartment. Brushed silvered, applied gilt Arabic numerals, outer minute track and luminous dots. Luminous gilt alpha hands. Rectangular brass, going barrel and rectangular bellows, the revolving bird with moving wings and beak, controlled by two cams mounted beneath the barrel wheel, gilt brass grille pierced and engraved with foliage.
