Notes

Antoine Rédier globe clock Interesting clock showing the local time against the annular ring and World Time at any point of the world by the numerals on the same ring, rotating once in 24 hours (in the pivoted ring). The whole movement mounted around a central axis carrying at one end the single hand, at the other a counterweigh which serves to maintain the globe inclined on its axis at 23 ½ ° to the ecliptic, the globe and hour ring being driven around them. This invention of Antoine Rédier (1817-1897), French watchmaker, is published on August 18, 1883, in La Nature ?? the scientific journal of Gaston Tissandier (1843-1899) ?? by Henri de Parville (Peudefer, François Henri; 1838-1909), science editor and then editor-in-chief.
