ARNOLD & SON 'LONGITUDE II' NORTHERN HEMISPHERE Arnold & Son, Swiss, 'Longitude II', Ref. IL2AS, No. 447. Made circa 2010. Fine and unusual, self-winding, water-resistant, center-seconds, stainless steel two time zone wristwatch with rotating longitude determining ring, charts for equation of time correction, 24 hour indication, date, black rubber strap and stainless steel Arnold buckle. Accompanied by the original box and certificate of origin with instruction booklet.
Three-body, polished and brushed, bezel with serrated edge, lapidated lugs, the side of the case engraved "Longitude", crown at 2 o'clock for rotating the inner degrees of longitude scale, crown at 4 o'clock for hand and date setting, button at 3 o'clock to release the back catch, domed hinged back with reeded decoration, the interior with engraved charts and rotating arm for calculating equation of time correction, sapphire crystals. Glazed inner back to view the movement. Black with applied steel luminous index markers, painted outer silver scale for East-/+West degrees, inclined rotating outer degree scale for determination of longitude, inner rotating 24-hour disc with day and night indication and decorated with a map of the North Pole, date aperture with internal cyclops lens. Luminous steel epee hands, the hour hand with red tip extended to the degree scale. Cal. 2893-1, rhodium-plated, 21 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating flat balance spring, shock absorber, micrometer regulator.
