J L REUTTER PATENT ATMOS GOLDEN MIRROR J.L. Reutter Patent Atmos - Golden Mirror Atmos, "Pendule Perpetuelle", J. L. Reutter patent, movement No. 21, case No. 5643, Swiss. Made circa 1934. Very fine and very rare, early, Art Deco, mirrored and gilt brass, "perpetual" clock wound by changes in barometric pressure with early mercury in glass expansion device.

Rectangular, gold-mirrored body, gilt brass inclined base, aperture to view the pendulum, gilt brass bezel. Matte pink with applied blued steel baton indexes and Art-Deco Arabic quarter-hour numerals. Blued steel sword hands. Chrome, vacuum chamber with rotating drum driven by a mercury in glass expansion device winding the going barrel by a blued steel spring and ratchet, lever escapement driven by annular torsion pendulum, locking lever in the base below the pendulum. Applied plaque on the case back inscribed "Brevets J.L. Reutter S.G.D.G". DIM. 25.3 x 20.3 x 12.8 cm.
