Audemars Piguet, Genève, No. 40977. Retailed by Gübelin, Lucerne, made in 1929. Extremely fine and probably unique, square, minute-repeating, platinum gentleman's wristwatch.

C. massive, polished, satined. D. mat silver with applied platinum indexes + auxiliary seconds dial. "Bâton" blued steel hands. M. 9"' rhodiumed, "fausses côtes" decoration, 29 jewels, lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance adjusted to 8 positions, Breguet balance-spring, repeater on gongs by means of a slide on the band. Dial, case and movement signed. In very good condition. Dim. 26 x 26 mm.

The shape of this watch is strongly inpsired by the model "Santos" which was highly fashionable at that time. This minute repeating movement of 9"' is the smallest and flatest ever produced in the world known today.
