Audemars Piguet, Genève for Cartier, Paris, (?) No. 46757, years 1940's. Former property of " Coluche", the famous French Artist with a letter of his wife attesting this property. Very fine, rectangular, 18ct gold, gentleman's wristwatch.

C. massive, polished, hooded ligs, sapphire set winding- crown. D. mat silver, with applied gold indexes and Roman numerals + auxiliary seconds dials. M. 8 3/4"' rhodiumed, "fausses côtes" decoration, 18 jewels, lever escapement, monomatellic balance, adjusted to 8 positions, self-compensating Breguet balancespring. Dial, case and movement signed. In excellent condition Dim. 23x27 mm.

Notes

Michel Colucci known as Coluche, (1943-1987) famous French comedian and fantasist. He became known tir his acerbic parodies of the typical malcontented man. Amongst his most celebrated routines should be mentioned his caricyatures of television games shows, and his depiction of the unbearable hitckhiker. Another of Coluche's claims to fame lies in his spectacular practical jokes including his sham marnage to Thierry Le Luron (another well known fantasiste) and his attempt to become President of the Republic. In the cinema his greatest rote was in the film "Tchao Pantin". There was also a truely humanisation side to his nature, notably in his starting and supporting the "Restos du Coeur" which stil) provides millions of the measls to the needy during the winter months.
