"Minute Repeater & Split-Seconds Chronograph" Audemars Piguet & Co., Geneve, No. 4888, retailed by Jules A. Renaud, Geneva. Made circa 1910. Fine and rare, minute-repeating, 18K yellow gold, hunting cased, keyless pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph and register.
C. Four-body, "bassine", polished, the spring-loaded front cover engraved with a monogram. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute and fifths of a second divisions, red Arabic five-minute numerals, 30-minute register at 12, subsidiary seconds at 6. Black "spade" hands. M. 38 mm., 17"', rhodium-plated, 31 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, adjusted cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, chronograph and split-seconds buttons in the band. Dial signed by the retailer, movement signed on the dial plate. Diam. 49 mm.
