Audemars Piguet, Genève, ?Star Wheel Automatic?. Produced in the 1990?s.Very fine and unusual, self-winding, platinum gentleman?s wristwatch inspired by one of the most important inventions of the 18th century: ?The Aperture Watch?, with a stainless steel Audemars Piguet buckle.
C. three-body, solid, polished and brushed, transparent back, stepped bezel, sapphire crystal. D. white and guilloché gold, the hours graduation on three translucent sapphire discs, each with four painted black hour indicators, on the top, sector indicating the 60 minutes in painted Arabic numerals and indexes, at the center, a rhodium plated wheel with three arms each ended by a self-rotating screw activating the discs. M. Cal. 2124 rhodium plated, ?fausses-côtes? decoration, 33 jewels, straighline lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted for heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring, 21K gold rotor.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 36 mm.
