Very fine and very rare, minute-repeating, cushion-shaped, water-resistant, 18K pink gold wristwatch with star wheel display.

C. Three body, solid, polished and brushed, transparent case back with four screws, arch-shaped aperture for time indication, sapphire crystals. D. White with sexagesimal graduation, Arabic numerals, sapphire disks with Arabic numerals for the hours. M. 9 3/4''', caliber 2267, 32 jewels, rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, straightline lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold isochronism and 5 positions, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs by activating slide on the band. Case and movement signed. Dim. 33 x 33 mm. Thickness 10 mm.

The first Audemars Piguet watch with minute repeater was created in 1907 for the famous American industrialist John Schaeffer who wanted to personalize his watch by having Audemars Piguet position the letters of his name on the hour markers. The historic tonneau shaped case has been reintroduced by Le Brassus manufacture, revising its dimensions slightly: wider and a little rounder than the original
