Produced in a limited edition of 50 examples in the 1990's.Very fine and unusual, horizontal oval, self-winding, large, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with date and 38 hours autonomy, inspired by one of the most important inventions of the 18th century, "The Aperture Watch". Accompanied by a wooden fitted box and certificate.

D. sand-finished off-white and gray, the hours graduation on three tranlucent sapphire discs, each with four painted white stylized hour indicators, on the right, sector indicating the 59 minutes in painted Arabic numerals and indexes underlined by a gray painted decoration, at the center, a gilt wheel with three arms each ended by a self-rotating screw activating the discs. M. Cal. 2224, rhodium-plated, "faussescôtes" decoration, 35 jewels, lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring, 21K gold rotor segment.Dial, case and movement signed.Dim. 40 x 35 mm.

The "Star Wheel", based on an invention of the 18th century consists of three discs, with Arabic numerals for the jump-hours, each of which indicates four hours of the day, and which rotate on themselves as well as on a common plane, and indicate the minutes on a sexagesimal scale.
