Audemars Piguet, Genève, "Millenary Star Wheel", case No. E 24491, Ref. 25898BA. Produced in a limited edition of 50 examples in the 1990's for the 125th anniversary of the manufacture.Very fine and unusual, horizontal, oval, self-winding, large, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with date and 38 hours autonomy, inspired by one of the most important inventions of the 18th century, "The Aperture Watch". Accompanied by a fitted box.

D. navy blue and off-white, the hours graduation on three translucent sapphire discs, each with four painted dark blue stylized hour indicators, on the right, sector indicating the 59 minutes in painted Arabic numerals and indexes underlined by an off-white painted decoration, at the center, a gilt wheel with three arms each ended by a self-rotating screw activating the discs. M. Cal. 2224, rhodium-plated, "fausses-côte" decoration, 35 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring, 21K gold rotor segment.Dial, case and movement signed.Dim. 40 x 35 mm.
