Made in a limited edition of only 20 pieces circa 2000, the second watch in the ?Tradition of Excellence? cabinet series. Sold on May 17, 2001. Extremely fine and rare, large, minute-repeating platinum wristwatch with visible one-minute tourbillon regulator, perpetual calendar and a platinum Audemars Piguet deployant clasp. Accompanied by the fitted wooden box, Certificate of Origin and instruction book.
C. Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, stepped bezel, straight and curved lugs, transparent case back, sapphire crystals. D. Two-tone silver with applied white gold radial Roman numerals and dot indexes, in center vertical fausses cotes decoration, subsidiary dials for the days of the week and the months, apertures for the large 2-digit date, the leap years and the visible tourbillon regulator under a polished steel bridge at 6, carrying the seconds hand. Black oxydized gold feuille hands. M. Cal. 2869, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 38 jewels, lateral lever escapement with visible one-minute tourbillon regulator with steel cage and 3 equidistant polished steel arms, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold and 5 positions, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs by activating slide on the band. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 43 mm. Thickness 13.5 mm.
