AUDEMARS PIGUET END OF DAYS Audemars Piguet, Genève, "Royal Oak Offshore, Automatic - End of Days", No. 373/500, case No. E25924. Made in a limited edition of 500 examples circa 2000 in collaboration with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Very fine and rare, large, octagonal, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel with black PVD-coating wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer and date. Accpmpanied by a titanium and PVD Audemars Piguet deployant buckle.

C. Three-body, PVD-coated, screw-down steel and rubber winding crown, octagonal bezel with 8 hexagonal recessed polished stainless steel nuts screwed to 8 screws on the case back, sapphire crystal. D. Black, "clous-de-Paris" decoration with luminous yellow Arabic numerals, subsidiary satiné black dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers, outer tachometer graduation, cyclops aperture for the date. Luminous yellow baton hands. M. Cal. 2226/2840, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 54 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating fl at balance spring, 21K gold rotor. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 45 mm. Thickness 14 mm.

The Audemars Piguet ?End of Days? was designed in collaboration with the Hollywood actor and former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to be worn in the 1999 movie ?End of Days?. The actor apparently played an active role in the fi nal design requesting a dark, military themed wristwatch. It was the fi rst time a manufacturer of Audemars Piguet?s quality had launched a PVD coated model and can be attributed to starting the recent trend for black-coated luxury sports watches.
