Audemars Piguet, Genève, "Millenary Star Wheel", No. E 24433, Ref. 25898BA. Produced in a limited edition of 50 examples to mark the 125th anniversary of Audemars Piguet in 2000. Very fine, rare and unusual, large, horizontal oval, selfwinding, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with wandering hours. Accompanied an original box.
C. Two-body, solid, polished and brushed, back with 6 screws,curved straight lugs. D. Sand-finished off-white and gray, theArabic hours on three translucent sapphire discs, each with fourpainted numerals, on the right a sector indicating the 59minutes in painted Arabic numerals and indexes underlined bygray painted sector over which the hours pass, at the center, agilt wheel with three arms each ended by a self-rotating screwactivating the discs. M. Cal. 2224, rhodium-plated, "faussescôtes" decoration, 35 jewels, lever escapement, monometallicbalance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring,21K gold rotor segment.Dial, case and movement signed.Dim. 40 x 35 mm.
