Notes

The story of the Royal Oak is well known: born in 1972 from the genius designer, Gerald Genta, it became the most emblematic luxury sport wristwatch by Audemars Piguet. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the launch of this icon, Audemars Piguet produced in 2002 the Royal Oak Concept, a limited edition of 150 pieces. While the first Royal Oak Concept did feature a tourbillon, it didn't come with a GMT function. In 2011, the manufacture developed the collection by creating the Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon ref. 26560IO.OO.D002CA.01, using titanium and ceramic, which are lighter materials, with a bold design for the case. There was a clear and established desire to modernize the initial model with high-tech materials (titanium, ceramic and the rubber band) and extreme complications, both Tourbillon and GMT.
