Notes

Audemars Piguet Royal is considered the myth of sport watches. Everything started in the early 1970s from the hands of the revolutionary designer Gerald Genta. He developed a monoblock case featuring an octagonal bezel securely installed by eight hexagonal screws and the well recognaizable petit taspisserie dial with its dark gray color.
While today the Royal Oak has become a legend, back in the 70s it was more than a bet, it was a true visionary revolution, the pioneer of what is today’s most successful style of wristwatch: luxury sport watch in steel. The present Royal Oak
5402BC manufactured in 18K white gold features the classic gray tapisserie dial with stunning diamonds indexes and thin hands which is the signature of Royal Oaks made in precious materials. This example is one of the first produced in 1972 for instance on the caseback engraved the N°142. Worthy of note are also the rounded diamond indexes which are truly an elegant touch to sportive wristwatch. Produced in very small quantities, this reference is one of the solely 149 estimated to have been manufactured by the Brand.. The Royal Oak 5402 BC comes with a document from Audemars Piguet’s special program called “Classic Parts” in which it is mentioned and analyzed as amazing as well as an extremely rare Royal Oak. It even claims the authenticity of it.
