Notes

Designed in 1971 by Gerald Genta and launched in 1972, the Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet is one of the most iconic model in the contemporary watchmaking industry. This ref. 25554 Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar dates back to 1986 and is one of the very first perpetual calendar Royal Oaks to ever see the light of day. These first-series ref. 5554/25554 were introduced in 1983 and it is estimated that fewer than 300 of these watches were made in various metals.
Purchased new by the current owner in HK in 1986, its rarity is further enhanced by the fact that it still has the four-digit reference number on the warranty (Ref. 5554) making this the 258th example ever produced. Kept with all its original accessories, the yellow dial has been exchanged at some point with the current white dial, this is a milestone watch in the history of Royal Oak perpetual calendars.
