Executed almost entirely in black ceramic, this 34 mm Royal Oak transforms Gérald Genta’s familiar architecture through the interplay of texture, light and contrasting pink gold details. The monochromatic construction extends from the octagonal case and bezel through to the fully integrated bracelet, giving the watch a particularly sleek and contemporary appearance.
The black “Grande Tapisserie” dial is punctuated by pink gold applied hour markers and matching hands, while the eight pink gold-toned hexagonal screws on the bezel create a subtle but immediately visible contrast against the ceramic. A discreet date aperture at 3 o’clock completes the display without disturbing its symmetry.

Black ceramic is especially effective on the Royal Oak because its finishing reproduces the alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces that are fundamental to the design. Achieving these contrasting finishes on ceramic requires considerable precision, particularly across the numerous facets and links of the integrated bracelet.
