Upon his purchase of his jumbo Royal Oak, the new owner decided to send it to Audemars Piguet for a complete restoration. As the case had been very worn, the manufacture offered to exchange the original 5402 case with a replacement 15002 case with the original serial number C 1770 engraved on it. At the same time, they changed the dial, hands and bracelet returning the watch to close to new condition.
