BAUME & MERCIER SQUARE CHRONOGRAPH - BLACK TACHOMETER DIAL Baume & Mercier, Swiss, `Ultra Prima`, case No. 97768. Made circa 1940. Fine and rare, square, 18K yellow gold wristwatch with square-button chronograph, tachometer and register.

Two-body, square, polished, straight lugs, snap-on back with engraved inscription. Black with gilt painted baton indexes and Roman quarter-hour numerals, outer minute track, minutes and seconds track with fifths of a second divisions and Arabic five-second numerals, inner spiral tachometer scale, subsidiary dials for the seconds and 30-minute register. Yellow gold baton hands. 10 ½ ```, rhodium plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, index regulator.
