Notes

Although it is signed "Breguet ", and devised with a male square to wind watches with female winding square, this key is very similar to that illustrated on Tavernier ' s own advertisement. It was certainly produced by Tavernier at the request of Breguet. A reproduction of the original instructions supplied by Tavernier for such astronomical keys, is published by Mathieu Planchon in Aimee rePoros/ectif de la Claire 96, Horlogerie a. 1Expasition Universelle Internationale de 1900 a Paris, p. 141, pl. CXVIII bis.
