Breguet et Fils a Paris, No. 9177, Swiss, circa 1820. Fine 18K gold, quarter repeating watch with automaton Jacks and subsidiary concealed erotic automaton scene.

C. Three body, Empire with heavy reeded band and engine-turned back. Concealed in the hinged gilt brass cuvette, a small automaton scene presents a couple striving hard to prolong the existence of the human race. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Gold "scotties" hands. Flanked on each side of the dial vari-coloured gold and enamel savage automaton jacks, repeat hours and quarters on two bell above the dial. M. Gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant, both the automata concealed in the cuvette and the Jacks of the dial are driven by the repeating train by means of a small cam and levers. Signed on the automaton lid. In good condition. Diam. 56 mm.
