?Quarter Repeater? Breguet à Paris, Swiss, No. 4055. Made circa 1795. Fine, 18K yellow gold, quarter repeating pocket watch.
C. Three-body, ?Directoire?, polished, rope-twist band. Glazed and hinged gilt metal cuvette. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals and outer minute track. Blued steel ?Breguet? hands. M. 42 mm., gilt brass, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with index regulator, polished steel repeating work mounted on the back plate, repeating on three blued steel gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Apocryphal signature on the dial and cuvette, case punchmarked IHP. Diam. 58 mm.
