Breguet No. 1177, sold on 29 Thermidor, circa 1800 to Monsieur x, for 1600 Francs, In 1824, the watch belonged to Mr. de Haute-Roche. Fine 18 ct. gold, dumb quarter repeating watch with jump hour hand.

C. Four body, "forme collier" by Gros, No. 278, engine-turned with reeded band and loose ring pendant, the back centre with a small monogram, ( slighty worn). Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals and secret signature. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 21"', gilt brass, new calibre with going barrel, jewelled to the centre, over hanging ruby cylinder escapement, plain gold three-arm balance with parachute suspension, flat balance spring with bimetallic compensation curb. Repeating with a massive polished steel hammer on a bloc on the case. Signed "Breguet" on the dial, cuvette and movement on a small appendage of the case. hl very good condition with certificate No. 4066. Diam. 56 mm.

The date this watch was sold is not recorded in the Breguet books but due to the signature (Breguet only, without mention of the son) it was made before 1801 and therefore is certainly among the first to be made with the new calibre incorporating the jump hour mechanism.
