Breguet No. 1012, sold to His Majesty Fouad 1st., King of Egypte on 10 December 1925, for 3688 Francs. In original green leather fitted box. Fine small silver, eight day going, humped back carriage dock.

Humped back, polished, the front face with black champleve enamelled vertical lined, black blue and red champleve Art-Deco decoration, the crown and monogram of the King, chased in high relief below the dial. D. Mat silver with Empire Roman numerals. Blue and red enamelled hands. M. Gilt brass eight day going with going barrel, platform escapement with straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Signed on the dial. In very good condition. Dim. 70 x 52 x 35 mm.

Fouad 1" Born in Gisèh on 26 March 1868, died in Cairo on 28 April 1936. Sultan from 1917 to 1922 and King of Egypt from 1922 to 1936. He was educated in Switzerland and Italy and founded in 1925 the first University of Egypt organized on the principal of western Universities. Fouad was crowned on 16 March 1922 and rulled under juridiction of Great Britain from whom he obtained the right to abandon the status of Protectorat but was obliged to fight against the Nationalist party from 1928 onword. The was succeeded by his son Farouk.
