C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", polished. Gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds and up-and-down sector. Gold Breguet hands. M. 18"' , gilt brass, bar calibre with going barrel, 21 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet Palladium balance spring with swan neck micrometric index. Signed on the dial and cuvette. In very good condition. Diam. 54 mm.

Johan Joseph of Lichtenstein.
Born in Vienna on 26 June 1760, died in the same town
on 24 April 1836. He distinguished himself during the
Turkish campaigns (1788-1790) different battles in
France. Victorious on the Trebbia (17 June 1799), he
was also active in the baffles of Novi, Hohenlinden,
Salzburg and became Rulling Prince after the death of
bis brother in March 1805. Commander of the
remaining part of the sh tnrken army after the defeat
in Ulm, he protected the passage at the retreat after
Austerlitz and signed the Peace of Presbourg. He was
then appointed as Governor of Vienna and of the
Provinces above and below the Enns. In 1809 he was
in charge of the cavalry and the Grenadiers of the
reserve. He took Ratisbonne on the 20 April, linking
the army of Bellegarde to that of Kolowrat, he fought
bravely at Essling and Wagram and succeeded to the
Archduke Charles as Chief Commandant with the
title of Feld-Maréchal and signed the Peace of Vienna..
