Breguet No. 2210, sold to Mrs. de Coigny on 30 August 1811, for 1500 Francs. Fine 18 ct. gold quarter repeating watch.

C. Four body, "forme collier", engine-turned, No. 1648, the back centred with a later yellow gold blank escutcheon. Hinged gilt brass cuvette. D. Later white enamel with Roman numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 19-, gilt brass, first class calibre, with going barrel, overhanging ruby cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with parachute suspension, flat balance spring with bimetallic compensation curb on the index. Repeating on one gong with a single hammer with pull-twist piston in the pendant. Signed on the cuvette. In good condition. Diam. 51 mm.

Mrs. de Coigny certainly was from the family of Marechal Duc de Coigny, member of the circle of the closest friends of Marie-Antoinette (See catalogue: L'Art de l'Horlogerie en France, Antiquorum, 14 November 1993, p. 258).
