Breguet No. 246, sold to M. Durbach on 20 Nivôse an V I (1798) for 648 Francs. Rare very early silver "montre de souscription" with an experimental calibre.

C. Three body, "forme collier", with gold rims, by Amy Gros, the blue champleve enamelled monogram "C.D.", on a circular gold plate inlaid on the polished back. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals. Single blued-steel " souscription" hand with tapered point. M. 25"', gilt brass, the earliest type of "souscription" experimental calibre, with central barrel, retained along with the wheels by a single plate. Overhanging ruby cylinder escapement, plain brass three armed balance, blued-steel flat balance spring with bimetallic compensation curb on the regulator. In very good condition. Diam. 62mm.

Although undoubtedly original, the case of this watch does not bear any hallmarks nor master mark for it 'vas produced during the short period after the Revolution when all previous Royal regulations were cancelled and the new Republican dut), marks not yet introduced (see the continents on this subject under lot No. 116). The enamel dial has no secret signature which was not yet introduced at this date.
