"Monsieur Gozzel" Breguet, No. 1689, Répétition de Première Classe, sold to Mr Gozzel on May 22, 1822, for 900 francs. Very fine and rare large dumb quarter-repeating 18K gold pocket watch.

C. Four-body, "Empire", by Joly, No. 1729, polished bezel, engine-turned band, engine turned back with polished border. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel, Breguet numerals, offset subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Frosted gilt, bar caliber, standing barrel, 13 jewels, Breguet overhanging ruby cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm flat-rim balance, the top pivot with parachute, flat blued steel balance spring with bimetallic compensation curb on the index regulator. Quarter repeating on the case with a massive polished steel single hammer activated by depressing the pendant. Dial and cuvette signed, movement numbered. Diam. 56 mm.
