Breguet, Swiss, circa 1810. Very fine and rare 18 ct. gold and enamel double-sided quarter-repeating jaquemart automaton watch.
C. Three-body, the bands decorated with black and white enamel navettes (some repairs), bezels of blue enamel over silver paillons. D. White enamel, Arabic hour numerals, blued-steel moon hands. Back glazed over a two-tone blue enamel and engraved gold garden, with applied vari-coloured gilt "jacks" in contemporary costume, 3 twisted glass rods simulating water in time with the repeating, a swan and young neptune in the urm below. M. GiIt brass full plate, fusee with chain, cylinder escapement, plain balance and flat spring. Quarter-repeating on two bells with push pendant. Signed on the dial. In very good condition. Diam. 54 mm.
