Breguet à Paris, No. 30450, Swiss, circa 1830.Very fine and rare 20 ct. gold and enamel 'cabriolet' watch with a special escapement, made for the Turkish market.

Outer: three-body, hinged, scalloped edge, entirely painted on enamel, on centre back a map of the Ottoman Empire of the period with Turkish characters, on the outer and the bezel, a translucent red enamel border over engine-turning decorated with flowers painted en grisaille, pendant and bow with champlevé enamel. Inner: four-body, back with finely painted enamel map of Turkey, bezels with flowers on a green ground, gold hinged cuvette, pendant and bow enamelled. D. White enamel, Turkish numrals, outer minute divisions, 'secret' signature under 12. Gold Breguet hands. M. 35.1 mm o, gilt brass early bridge calibre, 11 jewels, ruby cylinder escapement, plain gold three-arm balance with flat spring.Signed on the cuvette and the dial.Diam. 50 mm.
