?Calm Harbor? Leroy, ?élève de Breguet?, No 5026. Made for the Turkish market circa 1815. Very fine and rare, 18K gold and painted on enamel quarterrepeating pocket watch with cylinder escapement.
C. Three-body, ?à la Turque?, the back with painted on enamel
central decoration depicting ships in a calm harbor with ruins
in the foreground and a citadel in the background, pink guilloche
enamel sky, surrounded by pink champlevé enamel with
gold foliate scrolls, the bezels decorated en suite. Hinged gold
cuvette. D. White enamel, Islamic numerals, outer minute track.
Blued steel ?Breguet? hands. M. 40 mm (18'''), frosted gilt, fixed
barrel, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, parachute
on the upper pivot, blued steel flat balance spring, index
regulator with bimetallic temperature compensation curb, all-ornothing
repeating with two hammers on two rectangular section
gongs activated by a pull-and-twist piston in the pendant.
Dial and cuvette signed.
