Leroy, Elève de Breguet, Swiss, No. 5026, made for the Islamic market, circa 1830. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, quarter repeating watch.
C. Four body, massive bassine pincée, engraved with scrolls and flowers over a pink champleve enamelled ground, the back centered with a very fine painted fluvial landscape with two sailing boats. Gold cuvette. D. white enamel with Turkish numerals (hair lines). Blued steel Breguet hands. M. GiIt brass, bar caliber, with going barrel, cylinder escapement with plain gold three armed balance, parachute suspension to the top pivot, bimetallic Breguet compensation curb. Repeating on gongs with pull-twist piston in the pendant. Signed on the dial and the cuvette. In good condition. Diam. 49 mm.
